Hi Club Members,
Thank you to everyone who completed the recent Football Queensland #Equaliser Survey! Your voices have been heard, and the results have been sent to our local MPs. Now, we need your help to make sure our MPs truly understand what Holland Park Hawks FC means to our community and why they should support us.
In fact, 82.7% of voters in Greenslopes said that a political party investing in their local football club would influence who they vote for. That’s massive!
The Need
As you know, our club fees only cover running costs, and no funds from fees are set aside for infrastructure improvements. For these, we rely on generous donors and government grants.
We’ve been lucky to secure around $480k in grants recently, which have helped extend our lighting, formalise our junior fields, and lay the groundwork for our Masterplan. Unfortunately, 60% of that funding had to go underground—literally! But we’re making progress.
Now, we’re aiming for the big goal: $1.9 million to fully realise our Masterplan. This includes a new multipurpose club/bar/canteen area, modern change rooms, a uniform shop, more office space, and physio rooms. These upgrades are not just for Football Association compliance but will also ensure the long-term financial stability of the club through non-fee revenue.
The MPs
We’ve had productive meetings with local MPs:
• Joe Kelly (Labor): Unfortunately, his focus is on Easts Rugby Union Club, and he’s announced his support for them –

https://www.instagram.com/andrewnewboldlnp/• Rebecca White (Greens): She supports our plans but isn’t able to offer financial backing –

How You Can Help
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be posting on social media, and we need YOU to help spread the word. Please share, repost, and engage with our MPs on social media. Let them know why football in our community matters to you and remind them that it is the State’s and the Greenslopes Electorate No 1 team participation sport. Our female program has grown 62% in two years with more teams planned in 2025 and our All- Abilities Program has doubled over the course of this season —that’s something to be proud of and definitely worth their support!
Together, we can make a difference. Let’s show our MPs the strength of our community and secure the future of Holland Park Hawks FC!
Thanks heaps for your support,
Sharon Flannery on behalf of the Club Executive Committee
